Hunting and fishing - Norway

We would like to offer you the opportunity to combine moosehunting, grouse/forest game hunting and fishing.

The accommodation during this hunting trip, is a comfortable cottage situated a fair way into the wilderness. There is car access to the lake, from where a boat will take you to the cottage. The cottage is complete with all necessary equipment, the standard is good and there is plenty of space. The cottage has no electricity or water supplies, but if necessary electricity can be provided by using a generator.

From here we arrange guided moosehunting with good dogs, as well as troutfishing. The price for a 5 day stay with guide and dogs is approximately USD 2,100 The price includes a gourmet meal on the last evening, consisting of game we catch in the mountain.

Currently, we can offer the equivalent at Aketun. Here is also a good bird hunting area, with excellent black cock and grouse population. (Hunting starts on the 10th of September). The 5 day guided moosehunting tour costs USD 2,100 and includes trophes, accommodation and guides as well as gourmet dinner on the last evening.

Birdhunting costs approximately USD 90 per day per day for the first week and USD 70 per day per day for the second. The area is approximately 8.000 acres and is ideal for groups of 2-4 hunters.

In Nissedal we have license for 4 moose in a 16.000 acres area. The hunting rights are available to purchase. The hunting is independent and the hunter keeps the animal. A fee is charged according to the weight of the animal.  Smaller animals have a smaller charge per kilo than larger animals.

One week of full fishing rights and a cottage which sleeps 6-7 people costs approximately USD 550 during the summer season. Autumn fishing using a net is priced according to how many kilos of fish are caught. As an example, you could hire a cottage with a boat, 20 nets and the fishing rights to catch 50, 100 or 200 kilogrammes of fish.

Moosehunting with dogs

Depending on how many people would like this activity on a daily basis, we recommend a group of 3 hunters per guide. Excellent dogs and local guides are used. The terrain is exciting and several male moose wander around as they often do in these remote areas. Our quota is large so there will be enough animals for everyone – and lots of area to hunt in. Please remember that it is necessary to have your national shooting test prior to going moose hunting. However, it can also be extremely exciting to be part of a moosehunt even without a gun.

Guided birdhunting with dogs

We mainly hunt for grouse and black cock in areas known for their dense bird population. The bird population last winter was very good. Guide and dogs will be available.

Fishing

The lakes next to the cottages have a good trout population, and there are lots of fish weighing between 0,5 – 1 kilogram. The largest trout caught with a rod this year weighed 3,5 kilograms. We can offer you the opportunity to fish as much as you like, Otter as well as several nets. Boat, nets, Otter, and good knowledge of excellent local fishing spots as well as help in putting out the nets will all be available. The fishermen is responsible for their own equipment.

Food, logistics and timing

In some of the areas we can offer dinner every day. This will be a home cooked meal based on food that is locally available. We also do all the shopping for breakfast and lunch. If any specific requirements are made in advance, we will arrange for this to be at the cottage on arrival. We make an extra effort to ensure that the stay will be enjoyable, sociable and make you want to return. Both cottages and en-suite rooms are available. We plan a gourmet dinner where we eat what we have successfully hunted during the stay; grouse, black cock, moose and trout. We return home the following morning. The total hunting days and timings can be discussed at a later date. However, we recommend that you set aside 4-5 days for hunting and fishing, arriving in the afternoon the day before. Ideally, the trip should take place between 24-30 September, but other periods will be available. Please come forward with suitable dates.

A minimum of 4 people for each of the areas is required. Ideally, each group should consist of 6 people. Interested? Do not hesistate to contact us!
